Cricket: Scotland to help fund club coaching set-up
CRICKET Scotland chiefs are prepared to shell out up to £90,000 to help clubs employ qualified coaches.
The offer will be made to the 30 SNCL clubs at a forum in Stirling today and is part of radical plans to overhaul the domestic game and improve standards.
Bosses believe league reconstruction is vital to the future strength of cricket in Scotland and will outline plans for a two-division national league to replace the current three-division format.
They are also set to contribute 2,000 per club towards the cost of engaging a coach, rising to 3,000 if the coach is Scottish.
