Cricket: Flintoff to go back to basics
ANDREW FLINTOFF will place his trust in instinct when he tries to regain England the Ashes in this summer's five-Test series with Australia which starts at Cardiff on 8 July.
The Lancashire all-rounder is relishing the contests ahead after recovering from keyhole knee surgery.
Flintoff's aggressive bowling will take care of itself and he has gradually been building up his pace during two LV County Championship and three Twenty20 games for his county.
But with the bat he has turned back the clock in terms of his approach and will rely on the pure aggression after attempting technical changes saying: "I am a naturally aggressive player with bat – and ball – and that is something I'll be looking to do. It will be instinctive-type stuff."
