Craig swaps nappies to help Kenny
LOS ANGELES-based former Scottish amateur middleweight champion Craig McEwan has celebrated the birth of his first child by agreeing to spar with Capital super-middleweight Kenny Anderson.
McEwan, whose partner Sally gave birth to son Calum last week, will help Anderson prepare for his next fight in London on September 12.
Confirmed McEwan: "The birth of my son Calum in Livingston's St John's Hospital last Thursday has placed extra responsibilities on me to ensure that I succeed in my career boxing. While I will be fighting on September 27 in the LA Galaxy Soccer Stadium, where David Beckham plays football, on the Sugar Shane Mosely versus Ricardo Mayorga bill, I know Kenny has an equally important fight coming in a Great Britain versus USA international tournament.
"Kenny and I are old mates from our amateur days so we've both agreed to help each other prepare for what will be crucial fights."
Capital ring ace Anderson has been given a change of opponent for his September 12 bout. Instead of going head-to-head with American Antonio Baker, Anderson will clash over six rounds with another American, Joe Rea.
