CRAIG Levein is considering handing QPR striker Jamie Mackie a call-up for Scotland's Euro 2012 double header against the Czech Republic and Spain next month.
Mackie has caught the eye of the Scotland coach with eight goals in seven npower Championship games. The 24-year-old was born in Dorking, Surrey, but qualifies through his grandfather, who is from Kilmarnock.
In a statement, Levein said: "Jamie is a player we have been aware of for some time and we have monitored his progress at QPR. He has had a tremendous start to the season and is in form, which is a significant factor in us taking a closer look at him with a view to the forthcoming double-header.
"I will not name the squad until Thursday so don't want to start speculating about this player or that player. I am sure he will be an asset to our squad should he be selected, but at this stage I do not want to say too much more other than his goalscoring record speaks for itself."
Mackie said: "I'd love to play international football in any capacity. I qualify for Scotland as well for England and it's great for the CV."
