Cowdenbeath come from behind to extend good run

COWDENBEATH extended their unbeaten run to seven games by beating Dumbarton 2-1 at Central Park on Saturday.

Dumbarton went ahead in five minutes when Andy Geggan curled home from the edge of the box. Paul McQuade levelled from the penalty spot 13 minutes later, then flicked home a Scott Linton cross with eight minutes left. Manager Danny Lennon said: "This victory was really important as it was the first time in a couple of months that we have had to come from being behind."

Stirling Albion won for the first time in five outings with Martin Grehan's late strike helping to see off East Fife 2-1. Paul McManus put the Fifers ahead before David O'Brien levelled.

Brechin left it late to draw 2-2 with Clyde. The Bully Wee were winning at half-time through a Willie Sawyers goal, but Rory McAllister headed an equaliser in 68 minutes. Paul McLeod put Clyde ahead again with just two minutes left, only for Charlie King to level with a 20-yard strike.

Stenhousemuir stunned hosts Alloa 4-1 at Recreation Park to move up to seventh place in the table. Craig Malloy, Kevin Motion and Scott Dalziel all scored in the first half with Scott Buist's second half goal giving Alloa hope, only for Pat Scullion to add a fourth.

Jim Weir earned his first win as Arbroath manager with a 2-1 triumph against Peterhead.
