Cowdenbeath 2 - 1 Stenhousemuir: Late McQuade strike extends Cowdenbeath lead at summit
TEN-MAN Cowdenbeath stretched their lead at the top of the Second Division thanks to a great goal from substitute Paul McQuade 14 minutes from time.
The Fifers, who have now gone ten games unbeaten in the league, had to come from behind to record their latest win after Stenhousemuir shocked them with a goal from former Cowden player Scott Dalziel in the 21st minute. The ball broke to Dalziel who shot low into the net from 12 yards.
But the Blue Brazil quickly equalised through Brian Fairbairn with a goal in 23 minutes. Scott McBride began the move with a cutback to Jon Robertson whose shot from 14 yards was turned into the net by Fairbairn from close range.
The home side then shrugged off the loss of Kenny Adamson to a red card in the 68th minute to clinch the winner through McQuade 14 minutes from time.
