Cowdenbeath 1 - 2 Falkirk: Promotion hopes still alive for visitors
This victory kept the dying embers of Falkirk's promotion hopes alive and should also have had the same effect on Steven Pressley's seemingly-tenuous tenure as manager.
Pressley has had to endure a trying week amidst the club's financial worries. Suggestions he was to be ousted in the summer were followed by speculation on Friday that Ian McCall's sudden departure from Partick Thistle was to allow him to return to the Bairns.
However, Falkirk's young side gave the former Scotland defender some welcome relief as they came from behind for a hard-fought win. The Blue Brazil's Ryan Flynn should have finished off Blair Alston's superb through-ball before the Fifers gave their bid to stay out of the play-off spot a welcome boost when Greg Stewart chested down Lewis Coult's cross and scored.
Falkirk levelled on the hour when Mark Stewart headed in from barely a yard out, and only four minutes later, Brian McLean headed in a Mark Millar free-kick at the back post to complete the comeback.
