Canoeing: Florence wins Olympic vest

Edinburgh canoeist David Florence has been officially named in the British slalom team for this summer’s London Olympics.

The 2008 silver medallist will go for gold in both the C1 singles and C2 doubles after coming through the recent GB Trials at Lee Valley. “The aim since Beijing has been to compete again in London in two categories, so to know I have finally been selected makes all the hard work over the last four years worth it,” said Florence.
