Corr secures late point
LEADERS Stirling Albion's powers of recovery were tested to the full again as they fell behind for the fifth game running, but eventually salvaged a 1-1 draw with Clyde to maintain a five-point cushion at the top of the table.
Clyde's Willie Sawyers side-footed home via a post just before the hour mark to put his side ahead, but midfield substitute Liam Corr netted an injury-time equaliser.
Stirling manager Alan Moore said: "I have been telling the players that they cannot keep relying on the strikers to get us out of the holes that we have dug ourselves into. Thankfully this time Liam helped us out from midfield."
The two sides immediately below Stirling, Brechin City and Cowdenbeath cancelled each other out in a 0-0 draw at Central Park.
Cowdenbeath defender John Armstrong hit the bar with a header in the first half, but Brechin had the better of the second period with Cameron McKay making a fine double save to deny Kris Renton and Kevin Byers.
Peterhead and Alloa also fought out a goalless draw, with Alloa defender Scott Walker coming closest to breaking the deadlock in the first half when he headed a decent chance over the bar. However, Alloa had their goalkeeper David Crawford to thank for keeping Peterhead at bay when he saved a John Stewart penalty.
East Fife ended their run of three games without a win when they saw off Stenhousemuir 2-1 at New Bayview.
All the goals came in the second half with Aaron Conway firing in from an acute angle after 58 minutes.
Paul McManus doubled the lead nine minutes later before Craig Malloy reduced the deficit. Home substitute Shaun Fagan appeared to receive two red cards during his brief ten-minute appearance after an altercation with Malloy.
Dumbarton won at home for the first time this season when they edged out managerless Arbroath 1-0 thanks to Scott Chaplain's turn and shot right on half time.
