Cooper classic wins greatest goal

DAVIE Cooper's stunning individual goal for Rangers against Celtic in the 1979 Drybrough Cup final has been voted The Best Scottish Goal Ever by listeners to Real Radio's football phone-in.

Cooper controlled the ball in the area with his back to goal, swivelled, then beat four defenders while playing keepy-uppy and slotted the ball into the net. Programme co-host Alan Rough said: "It was the best goal by a mile. This goal was about technique, ability and the art of entertaining the crowd."
