Cold snap wipes out host of fixtures
The weather put paid to Ayr United’s Scottish Cup tie against Falkirk yesterday and the tie has been rescheduled for Wednesday, 15 February at Somerset Park
Seven Scottish Football League games were also hit by the cold snap. All five matches in the Second Division were wiped out. Albion Rovers v Stenhousemuir, Arbroath v Airdrie, East Fife v Brechin, Stirling Albion v Forfar and Dumbarton’s game against Cowdenbeath all fell victim to frozen pitches.
In the Third Division the games between Berwick Rangers and Peterhead and Elgin City and Clyde were also called off.
