Clyde 0-1 Livingston
LIVINGSTON inflicted further misery on Clyde to chalk up their first away victory in seven games and leave the Bully Wee staring relegation in the face.
It was the battle of the "skint" at Broadwood yesterday with both clubs having their financial upheavals well documented, with Clyde facing eviction from their Cumbernauld ground at the end of the month and Livi's players left wondering whether or not their wages will be paid on time.
Livi almost made the breakthrough on 13 minutes when David Winters pounced on a mistake by Marvyn Wilson to flick the ball through to Murray Davidson, but he failed to get enough behind his shot to beat goalkeeper David Hutton.
Livingston, without a win away from home since before Christmas before yesterday, got the winner in 22 minutes when Tony McParland floated over a free-kick from the left which was only partially cleared as far as Joe Hamill, who controlled the ball at the edge of the area, turned sharply and placed the ball beyond Hutton.
The game erupted into controversy in 57 minutes when Robbie Winters, making his debut for Clyde after his move back to Scotland from Norway, fell in the box under a challenge from Danny Griffin, but referee Colin Brown waved away penalty claims. Then Clyde's Willie McLaren lashed out off the ball at Livi substitute Gary Miller and saw a straight red card.
Clyde keeper Hutton then saved David McKay's spot kick on 83 minutes after Billy Gibson hauled down Leigh Griffiths.
