Changing room chat: Jimmy Crease keeps tight hold on pot of gold

BERWICK Rangers manager Jimmy Crease and his players enjoyed the exposure the club received in the build-up to their Scottish Cup tie against Celtic, but despite losing the game he says the attentions he has received in the aftermath have taken him aback.

Berwick picked up a very welcome 82,500 payment from Sky for showing the game live, and Crease reckons Berwick are now seen as the big-money boys of the Third Division.

He said: "We had a lot of media attention before we played Celtic in the cup, however my phone has been as busy in the aftermath as well." Much as Crease would like to think the barrage of calls were simply testament to his popularity, he conceded: "It seems other clubs and agents now reckon we have a pot of gold to spend and I am getting several calls every day offering me players. I will be adding to the squad, but I certainly won't be bringing in half the people I have been offered."

To the undoubted disappointment of his suitors, he added: "I reckon I will be adding just a couple of bodies to the squad as we have some right good players here already."
