Chairman says decider is one of biggest games in Caley history

INVERNESS Caledonian Thistle chairman George Fraser admits today's relegation decider against Falkirk is one of the most important matches in the club's history.

The stakes could not be higher for the SPL's strugglers with the side that is demoted facing a 1.5million loss in revenue for next season.

Inverness only need a point to preserve their top-flight status and Fraser is confident they will still be among Scottish football's elite next term. He said: "No-one at the club is under any illusions about how important this is to the club, to the city of Inverness and to the Highlands. It's going to be some scrap. It won't be a game for the faint-hearted and we are determined that it's SPL football we'll be playing at Caledonian Stadium next season.

"We've got to remain positive. Let's just say when Terry Butcher and Maurice Malpas took over at the start of the year when we were five points adrift at the bottom, we would have bitten your hand off to find ourselves in this position.

"We are positive there is a result to be had on Saturday and we are out to achieve it. We have shown what we can do against the big boys when we got a point against Celtic and scored a late winner against Rangers."
