Catriona Morrison holds out for Capital duathlon
Broxburn's Catriona Morrison is putting all her energy into September's World Duathlon Championships in Edinburgh after withdrawing from a long-distance event on Alpe d'Huez in France.
The triple world gold medallist has already shown good form by winning three times this summer in the Caribbean and Spain. But she opted not to compete midweek and will also miss another warm-up race in Germany next month.
"I've had a fantastic season this year with three wins out of three under my belt," she explained. "I'm now training hard to make the World Duathlon Championships in Edinburgh my fourth win of 2010."
In Morrison's absence, Brentwood's Jodie Swallow took first place on the Alpe d'Huez.
