Brothers link up for Livi win
THERE was no time for any sibling rivalry at Almondvale last night as the Jacobs brothers, Kyle and Keaghan, combined to stretch Livingston's lead at the top of the Third Division to five points.
Kyle, who has broken into the first team this term, set up his older brother five minutes from time with a neat cross which still left Keaghan with a bit to do, but he skipped past Alan Benton before beating goalkeeper Derek Gaston to secure a 2-0 victory over Albion Rovers.
Jason Talbot had opened the scoring just five minutes into the game when he headed home a David Sinclair cross.
It was Livi's fifth win on the trot and their seventh victory in eight games – the only blemish being a 1-1 draw at home to title championship rivals Berwick Rangers on 17 October, a team who also dished out one of their three defeats.
In fact, Livi have not lost since the end of September and manager Gary Bollan puts part of that success down to the superior fitness of his players.
He said: "When I first came in the lads had not had a proper pre-season because of the turmoil in the summer.
"We felt we needed to catch up on the fitness and we did that in October and we are getting the benefit now."
