Brewer to coach Scotland forwards
FORMER All Blacks captain Mike Brewer is reported to have been appointed as Scotland's forward coach.
He is reported as replacing George Graham, who was removed from the club following the Six Nations Championship.
Head coach Frank Hadden is believed to have said: "I'm absolutely delighted. To secure the services of the ex-All Blacks captain Mike Brewer is a boost."
Scots 'could have beat England'
SCOTLAND had a chance of beating England in yesterday's historic one day international, according to cricket's Gavin Hamilton.
But rain wrecked play at the Citylets Grange, bringing the game to a premature end after just 15 deliveries.
Hamilton is reported as saying: "We got out heads down and put a decent score on the board. You just don't know what would have happened."
The opener helped Scotland reach 156-9 from their 44 overs with a 60.
Feeney hits out at ref
WARREN Feeney is understood to have criticised controversial referee Charlie Richmond.
Dundee United's Feeney, on loan from Cardiff, has reportedly slammed Richmond for denying his team a penalty in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Celtic.
Feeney is reported as saying: "I heard a lot about the referees in Scotland before I came up here and what I've seen so far I believe it."
McFadden denies Old Firm link
JAMES McFadden has reportedly announced he will not return to Scottish football.
The Birmingham City forward is understood to have slammed speculation about a possible move to Celtic or Rangers, due to the scrutiny surrounding the clubs.
He is reported as saying: "To be perfectly honest, I wouldn't entertain a move to Glasgow.
"I'm happy to be playing outside Scotland at the minute, especially with the kind of press that's been going about for Rangers and Celtic."
He was unable to confirm how long he would be with Birmingham, instead being quoted as insisting he was "there until told otherwise".
