Clinton fears for Harrison
FORMER world champion Pat Clinton yesterday voiced his concern for Scott Harrison, who has appeared more often in the courtrooms than the rings in recent months.
Clinton, crowned WBO flyweight champion in 1992 by dint of out-pointing Mexican Isidro Perez, said: "Scott is the most successful boxer this country has had in terms of the number of defences he made in hard fights and it is a tragedy what has happened to him.
"It is a sad for Scottish boxing as a whole. I would love Scott to get a break and make a comeback, but I just cannot see that happening with the personal problems he has.
"Indeed, there must be a real chance that Scott will end up facing a prison sentence and, as he is approaching 30, time is not on his side. But if Scott lands lucky and manages to somehow make a comeback, I think it will be as a lightweight."
