Boxing: Groves stops Sierra to remain unbeaten
George Groves defeated Mexican Francisco Sierra with a sixth round stoppage in their light heavyweight bout in San Jose, California.
Londoner Groves maintained his unbeaten record, which now stretches to 15 professional fights, as he impressed on the undercard of the Robert Guerrero and Selcuk Aydin fight.
The 24-year-old did the damage with a combination of punches that floored Sierra in round six.
The Mexican was able to get up and took another combination before his corner threw in the towel.
Groves, who is the British and Commonwealth super-middleweight champion, suffered a cut to the side of his right eye but was not troubled by the injury as he dominated the contest.
