Boxing: Leith Vics set for Christmas show special

Leith VICTORIA light-heavyweight Connor Brown gets an early chance to re-establish his winning credentials at his club's annual Christmas boxing show at the Edinburgh Masonic Club on Leith Walk tomorrow.

After narrowly losing in his Scottish Novices title bid last week on points, he is set to face Clovenstone's Pieyam Khosrowpour this weekend.

Holyrood's newly-crowned Scottish Novices light-welterweight champion, Martyn Warner, clashes with the host club's Sean White while White's welterweight clubmate, Grezegorz Korsak, goes head-to-head with Tranent Bronx's Neil Kennedy.

There is an all-Capital joust between Leith Vics British universities welterweight champion Alistair Hardie and Craigmillar's all-action Usman Ahmed.

A women's battle sees Holyrood's Louise Mitchell face Port Glasgow's Natalie McKay.

East Lothian ABC have youth prospect Sam Chmylowskys tussling with Port Glasgow's Darren Simms, while the home club's lightweight entry Brian Lacey looks to see off the challenge of Holyrood's Ross Love.

Leith Victoria coach Ray Gibson's son Tyler is looking to notch a maiden win against Glasgow Kelvin opponent Callum McGinlay. Boxing is scheduled to commence at 1pm.
