Bowman tips Lions to shock Saints in Perth

LIVINGSTON'S McDiarmid Park clash with St Johnstone is of massive importance to both sides for varying reasons.

The Lions sit a mere six points clear of second-bottom Ross County, whilst the Saints are just four behind league leaders Gretna. A victory for either team would make a considerable difference to their respective end of season aims.

However, Dave Bowman, the assistant manager at Almondvale, refuses to look at the bottom places in the division table.

"We're in the driving position and we're looking at the teams above us. We want to finish in as strong a position as we can," he said. We have to get ourselves a couple of wins and move away from them (the bottom teams) as we should never be in the position we are.

"It's an important game and we're certainly going up there to try and get three points.

"Everybody remembers how you finish and if we can win every game from now until the end of the season we'll come back for next season with a bit of a buzz."

Livingston managed to defeat Owen Coyle's side 2-1 when the teams last met in Perth and Bowman hopes that the Lions can win again tomorrow.

"We've always feel that we should be able to get something out of every game," he said.

"We went up to St Johnstone earlier in the season and won quite comfortably - it wasn't as if it was a fluke result or anything like that."

On-loan Hearts star Jamie Mole will return to the Lions squad after a suspension, while Steven Tweed will miss the Saints clash after his red card at Airdrie sent him over the points threshold.

Neil Teggart has recovered from a concussion suffered against Gretna and will be available for selection, while Scott Mitchell is also expected to be fit after a rib injury.
