Bowls: Hush and Hogg's final woe

THE dream of British Isles bowls glory is over this year for Carrick Knowe duo Darren Hush and James Hogg.

They were Scotland's last hope of glory in yesterday's finals in Belfast after Campbeltown's Iain McMillan went down in the Under-25 singles

But Hush and Hogg lost 18-14 to Ian Henderson and Martin Selway from the Caerphilly Town club in Wales.

Today Scotland set their game plan in motion to retain the Men's Home International Series at the same venue.

Lothian players take the skips role in five of the six rinks. Willie Wood from West Barnes, who was Scotland's top skip last year when they won the title, is joined by last year's successful skips Grant Logan from Kirkliston and Ian Campbell from Houldsworth in Lanarkshire. Danderhall's David Peacock and Gifford's Alex Marshall have been given a recall and John Aitken from Kirkliston is back in the fold after a ten-year absence.
