Boo boys are giving Hearts headache

SO, BOOING one's team seems to be the order of the day, but how disheartening it was to witness this trend and more at Tynecastle last week.

Certainly it was one of Hearts' poorest performances of a season that hasn't exactly sparkled so far. However, there was an element of vulgar vitriol coming from the main stand, directed at individual players and the manager, which made this supporter sad and uncomfortable.

As if that wasn't bad enough, the reaction to Michael Stewart's substitution was frankly despicable. Michael didn't have the best of games, but who in the Hearts team did?

Falkirk set out their stall perfectly. They filled the midfield and defended well, knowing it would frustrate us and earn them a point, which it did.

No team – even the Old Firm – has a right to win games, and Hearts are not the only team ruing the lack of a clinical striker. I'm as frustrated as the next supporter at our inability to convert even the simplest of chances, but berating our team is not the answer. What message is that going to send to young players such as Craig Thomson?

So come on you supposed Hearts supporters, cut out the vitriol and get behind your team. At times like these the team needs your backing more than ever.
