Bollan praise for ten-man Livingston

LIVINGSTON boss Gary Bollan praised his side for grinding out a 0-0 draw at home to Ayr United after playing for an hour with ten men.

Lions star Iain Russell saw red for a clash with Alan Trouten and home boss Bollan, whose side clinched the Second Division title last weekend, claimed: "We played over an hour with ten men and our keeper never really had a save to make."

Livi were first to try their luck when a neat move between Keaghan Jacobs, David Cowan and Jason Talbot allowed Liam Fox to fire narrowly wide.

The away side were looking increasingly menacing on the break and the champions had a let-off on the half hour.

Rodgers picked out Mick Moffat and the midfielder found himself in on goal only to screw just wide.

But the odds swung towards the Honest Men when Russell saw red for clashing with Trouten nine minutes before the break and referee Steve Finnie had no hesitation in showing the striker a red card. But, despite the advantage, the visitors couldn't make the extra man count.
