Baxter out to channel anger into slalom run

ALAIN BAXTER aims to use his anger to drive him to success in tonight's World Cup slalom.

The Edinburgh-born racer, Britain’s No.1, failed to finish the second run in Sunday’s World Cup slalom in the Austrian resort of Kitzbuehel.

And the 30-year-old from Aviemore is delighted that the floodlit event at the neighbouring resort of Schladming is so close to Sunday’s disappointment.

Baxter’s younger brother, Noel, 22, also skies and Alain, whose best World Cup result this season is a 19th at Wengen (Switzerland), said: "We’re both down after Sunday.

"It was just a bad day at the office."

"It’s good that this race comes so close to Kitzbuehel and we’re eager to do well."

"I’m aiming to channel my anger positively when I get to Schladming."
