Livingston have signed former Blackburn Rovers, Gretna and Queen of the South defender Craig Barr while transferring Joe Hamill.
Barr, who is from Edinburgh, arrived on Saturday to play in the 2-1 defeat to Ross County in Co-operative Insurance Cup as Hamill left to join Swedish outfit Ostersunds FK, who are coached by former Livi and Hearts player Lee Makel. That deal runs until January.
Barr, who is 23, was among the 40 staff laid off by Gretna as the club went into administration in 2008 and was released by the Doonhamers this summer after undergoing two operations and a complete cruciate reconstruction of the knee. Chief executive Ged Nixon said: "He's a player with a good pedigree having played in the SPL and I am sure he will be an asset."
Iain Russell equalised for Livi in Dingwall three minutes into the second half after Paul Di Giacomo had given County the lead but Andy Barrowman headed the winner just two minutes after team-mate Ian Vigurs had been dismissed midway through the second half.
There was little between the teams and it was the first time in 14 years that County had beaten Livingston.
Manager Gary Bollan said: "For them to score a goal when they were down to ten men was disappointing as we had switched off."
