Away form key for Peterhead
PETERHEAD will be looking to take their impressive home form on the road this afternoon as they travel to Stark's Park to take on league leaders Raith Rovers. Neale Cooper's side have scored nine goals in their last two games including a 5-1 win over previously unbeaten Brechin City but have struggled away from Balmoor this season.
The Blue Toon have managed just five goals and eight points on their travels and must improve that record if they are to stay in touch with John McGlynn's side. The key to doing so could be the form of striker Martin Bavidge who, having netted just once in his first 11 games, has scored five in the last two.
Peterhead will, however, come up against the division's top scorer, Kevin Smith, this afternoon. The on-loan Dundee United striker notched his tenth of the season against East Fife last weekend as the Kirkcaldy side made it five wins in a row.
Brechin manager Michael O'Neill was glad his side put their drubbing at Peterhead behind them by winning 2-1 at Arbroath last week as they prepare for the visit of East Fife. He said: "It was great that the players showed the necessary spirit to come from behind to win. It is good to go into this one knowing the Peterhead game is out of our system."
