Antoine-Curier vital for Accies reveals Reid
HAMILTON manager Billy Reid has tipped Mickael Antoine-Curier to breathe new life into their bid to survive another season in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League.
The on-loan Dundee striker made his first appearance since recovering from knee surgery last week when he came off the bench as Accies shared the points with Aberdeen. Antoine-Curier has already chipped in with nine goals so far this season and, with crucial games against fellow SPL strugglers St Mirren and Falkirk looming, Reid believes his comeback has come at the perfect time.
"He came on on Saturday and within a couple of minutes we scored a goal. Even just his presence on the park gives the players a big lift," said Reid. "He has been brilliant for me. He leads the line and he has chipped in with his share of goals."
Accies play host to closest rivals Saints today, before welcoming bottom side Falkirk to New Douglas Park the following week.
"These are games we have to target as the home side and games we have to win," he said. "Our record against St Mirren is not too bad at the moment, but not so good against Falkirk."
