The Blues made the perfect start after four minutes when Michael Mullen headed home.
Andy Scott levelled on the half-hour mark and Brown Ferguson, who earlier missed a penalty, fired Alloa in front after 57 minutes.
But McConalogue earned a share of the points for Stranraer with a well-taken equaliser after 73 minutes.
Arbroath 1

DAVID McKenna netted a double as Albion extended their lead over Arbroath to four points
He opened the scoring after only 90 seconds when he clipped the ball over Darren Hill into the far corner of the net and netted his second goal on the half-hour mark following some slack defending by the home side.
Arbroath got back into the game when Scott Gibb turned the ball into his own net but the Binos held on for all three points.
East Fife 2
Brechin City 1
THE Fifers won for the third time in their last four outings to move within four points of City.
Brechin started the match in lively fashion, Gary Twigg twice missing early chances.
Bobby Linn eventually fired the Fifers in front with a fine effort from the edge of the area. Paul McManus and Greg McDonald both saw efforts come back off the frame of the goal before McManus netted the Fifers' second goal. Willie Dyer got Brechin's consolation.
Peterhead 2
Raith Rovers 1
ROVERS failed to stretch their lead at the top of the table as the Blue Toon maintained their excellent recent home form.
Peterhead were denied a penalty for a Kevin Smith handball in the first half but David Ross put them ahead in the second half when he scrambled the ball over the line, then netted his second goal from a low Graeme Sharp cross. Gary Wales pulled a goal back for Raith with 10 minutes remaining, but the Blue Toon held on for victory.
