HEARTS winger Andy Driver is unlikely to recover from an Achilles injury in time to face Inverness on Saturday, doctors have revealed.

The Englishman missed the 2-1 defeat to Falkirk last weekend, and a London specialist is said to have advised further rest.

But fans will have something to celebrate, with striker Christian Nade back to fitness and set to make his first start in five months.

McCann makes Hibs return

INJURY-hit Kevin McCann has played his first game for Hibs in two months, but has reportedly warned he is not yet ready for a first-team return.

The 20-year-old defender, who is still recovering from a knee injury, had a 58-minute run-out in Tuesday's 3-0 reserve defeat at Inverness.

Mixu Paatelainen said it was good to see him back on the pitch, but that his fitness "is not yet there".

Miller: Dad tried to stop me returning to Ibrox

KENNY Miller, who made history this summer by becoming the first player ever to play for Celtic once and Rangers twice, has spoken of how his father tried to stop him from making the controversial move.

Miller, 28, told how his dad was concerned about fans' reactions, but that the Ibrox side had made him an offer he couldn't refuse.

He said: "I'm my own man. I listened to what he and my mum had to say, but I'm old enough now to know what's right for me and what to do."

Southwell shifted as injury woes continue

EDINBURGH's injury woes have forced Andy Robinson to shift Hugo Southwell into midfield for tomorrow's Magners League meeting with Llanelli Scarlets at Murrayfield.

Southwell has said he is "excited" about the switch but coaches admitted it was a case of finding the best way of covering the situation by moving Chris Paterson to full-back and Southwell to outside centre.

Head coach Andy Robinson described the line-up as "a short term fix for us".

Faldo leaks tournament pairings

NICK Faldo's pairings for the Ryder Cup have apparently been let out of the bag in what could be one of the biggest tournament gaffes.

An eagle-eyed photographer caught the list on camera yesterday and it was then shown on television, causing the European captain great embarrassment.

The initials on the list showed Sergio Garcia and Lee Westwood out first with Padraig Harrington and Robert Karlsson.
