A first-half penalty from Frederic Kanoute following a mistake by Rangers defender Steven Whittaker ensured a victory for the home side. The win saw Sevilla finish top of Group G. The Spaniards progress to the knock-out stages with group runners-up VfB Stuttgart who beat Unirea Urziceni 3 - 1 in Germany.
