The Knight is based on a Military Knight of Windsor an order of Knights formed in 1348, the Bishop is based on the Dean of Windsor, the Rook as the Round Tower of Windsor Castle dating back to just after the Norman Conquest of 1066, the Pawns, Chorister’s from St George’s Chapel. Superb quality to be treasured by the whole family!
