UBS predicts savings flight from Scotland after ‘Yes’ vote

NEWS: Financial services giant UBS has suggested that savings flight – individuals and business moving their money out of Scotland – could take place in the short-term following a ‘Yes’ vote on Scottish independence.

Savers may rapidly move their money south of the border if Scotland were to vote for independence, one of Europe’s biggest banks has predicted. 
Analysts at UBS said that since an independent Scotland would be unlikely to have a currency union with the UK, deposits would flow into Britain rapidly, with far-reaching consequences.
