Golf: second-round joy for Chella Choi

South Korea’s Chella Choi fired a four-under-par 67 to secure a one-shot lead at the midway point of the LPGA Tour Jamie Farr Toledo Classic in Sylvania, Ohio.

Despite the misting rains at the beginning of her second round, Choi birdied the first hole and went on to make the turn at three under. Bogeys on ten and 11 dropped her back to one under for the day, but she responded with three birdies to end the day nine under for the tournament.

Scotland’s Janice Moodie followed her excellent first-round 68 with a one-over par round of 72 to lie seven shots off the lead.
