SPL new boys Ross County  prepared for their pre-season tour of the Netherlands with a victory at Third Division Elgin.

Centre-back Scott Boyd headed home their opener on nine minutes from Iain Vigurs’ corner on the right. Then summer signing Gary Glen raced on to Colin McMenamin’s pass to slot home a second on 21 minutes. McMenamin himself added the third with a near-post header from another Vigurs flag kick.

Ex-County striker Craig Gunn pulled one back but within two minutes County were 4-1 up as skipper Richard Brittain’s corner was punched into his own net by City trialist keeper Neil Duffy.

Best chance of the second half fell to County sub Steven Craig, who fired wide.
