Andrew Dallas left ‘disappointed’ by Kenny Shiels’ allegations of fabricated evidence

Andrew Dallas is challenging Kenny Shiels’ allegations that he fabricated evidence to “incriminate” the Kilmarnock boss when he was sent to the stand during the game against St Johnstone last month.

Dallas reported Shiels to referee Stevie O’Reilly during the 2-1 home defeat following an exchange with fourth official Dallas after the dismissal of Killie captain Manuel Pascali early in the match. And, after his appearance before the SFA’s judicial panel at Hampden on Thursday, Shiels, pictured, was found in breach of rule 203 relating to misconduct but the disciplinary body ruled no further sanction was necessary, given that he spent 87 minutes in the stand.

Shiels, though, subsequently accused Dallas of four different “outrageous” fabrications and, in response, Dallas has referred the matter to the SFA – which is likely lead to compliance officer Vincent Lunny citing Shiels on another charge.

In a statement released yesterday, Dallas said: “I am extremely surprised and disappointed by the allegations and comments made by Kenny Shiels. I have referred the matter to the Scottish FA for consideration and will also be seeking advice from the Scottish Senior Football Referees’ Association.”

An adamant Shiels had told BBC Scotland: “I was totally exonerated, yet I had to sit in the stand for a whole game. I brought in evidence to disprove the fourth official, who fabricated stuff to try and incriminate me. I don’t like that. I’m not going to lie down to these people. The fabrication was outrageous – at least four different things that were said about me – but he wasn’t aware I had visual evidence on my laptop. I think it was to get me into trouble. I’m sure it was to get me into trouble. There are no maybes about it and I would like some answers. If I hadn’t brought the evidence, I’d have got another four matches.”
