M&S brightens up my wardrobe

AS A regular online Marks & Spencer shopper, I was sorry to hear of the slump they are experiencing. I can’t help but feel, though, that Ruth Walker (The Week, 15 July) was being a little cruel about their clothes, as they do at least recognise not all their customers are able to wear the cap sleeves, tight waists and short skirts which have proliferated this year. I am a “mature” woman who still likes to look reasonably smart and fashionable, and thanks to good old M&S, can still buy things to suit me without being dowdy.

Reading the online customer reviews reveals I am not alone in being grateful to them for three-quarter length sleeves.
