Letter: Rugby given too much coverage

TOM English states Scotland is “a rugby nation” and laments the recent performances of Scotland. Rugby is a minority sport in this country mainly played and supported by a handful of public school toffs

The excessive coverage of rugby in Scotland on Sunday’s sport section is laughable. If rugby is a major spectator sport in this country how about stating the number of paying customers that attend the matches you report on?

I bet that more people pay to watch Albion Rovers on a Saturday than most rugby matches in Scotland.

William Milne, Rothes, Moray
