Cameron has staying power

GERALD Warner often talks sense but he is way off beam when he writes off David Cameron (Insight, 3 June).

If Scotland goes its own way after a 2014 referendum, Cameron may well be the first of perpetual Tory PMs in the rump UK.

Warner is off the point too regarding Theresa May. She is actually not “serially” incompetent but rather good at the job. However, she does have some duff lawyers working for her who do not know to allow an extra day just to be safe when calculating days allowed in which to lodge an appeal.

Those lawyers or civil servants should have been carpeted and/or disciplined.

In three years’ time I forecast that the economy will be looking a lot better for the UK, with or without us Scots, and that Cameron will still be premier. The economy and the referendum mean that there is all still to play for in UK-Westminster politics.
