THE Moffat cousins were the stars for Edinburgh Accies as their side defeated Baillie Gifford East League Division One title rivals Watsonians II at Newfield on Saturday.
Stuart Moffat hit 61 and Andy Moffat 32 as Accies made 206-7 batting first. Garrick Sutherland was once again the main man for the visitors with the ball, taking 3-26. In reply 'Sonians II could only manage 144 all out, Matt Roskell taking 4-21 and
Euan Robertson scoring 50 as the 62-run win edged Accies closer to the leaders with just three weekends remaining.

Elsewhere in the top division, 65 from Charlie Ellis set up Holy Cross for a good win over Carlton II. The home side made 206 all out at Arboretum before skipper Shannon Bonfield took 5-13 to bowl the visitors out for 125, despite a defiant 64 not out from Nathan Pietsch.

Tino Weeraratna rolled back the years to hit 40 in Heriot's II's win over Glenrothes, but Murrayfield DAFS-Freuchie II and Fauldhouse-Grange II were off due to rain.

In Division Two Sam Peachey had a dream day as Marchmont defeated Edinburgh II. He scored 127 with the bat at Academy Park as Marchmont made 208-9 and then took 3-27 as the hosts were all out for 187.

In Division Three leaders RH Corstorphine lost surprisingly to Grange III.

And Division Four continues to be tight at the top after leaders Kismet and second-placed Musselburgh posted thumping wins over Dunfermline Carnegie and Edinburgh University Staff respectively.
