ONE of the Scottish rugby premiership's leading lights, Andrew Skeen, is set for a change of scene next season by agreeing a deal to leave Watsonians for Italian outfit, Amatori Milan.
Club internationalist Skeen, 24, will put pen to paper short on a deal that will see him join an outfit who were originally under the same wing as the sports club which spawned soccer giants Inter Milan.
First winners of the Italian club champions
hip back in 1929 Amatori have dropped down to Serie B but Skeen is hopeful he can help them achieve their ambition to reclaim a place in the Super 10 competition.
Skeen, formerly with Newcastle Falcons academy, said: "The opportunity came through training with Edinburgh because the brother of scrummaging coach Massimo Cuttita is currently the Amatori coach.
"I went out to Milan to have a look around and was impressed with the rugby set-up.
"Hopefully playing full time will give me the opportunity to see how far I might go as a player.
"Amatori want me to go out well in advance of the Italian season which starts in September and I'm grateful for the chance to keep in shape, meantime, by training with Watsonians."
Watsonians coach Bruce Aitchison said: "We are delighted to have given Andrew a platform from which has been able to fulfil an ambition to play full-time and wish him every success."
