SCOTTISH rugby legends dusted off their boots at the weekend to roll back the years as they took part in a charity match in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT).
Former internationalists Gregor Townsend, Scott Hastings and Craig Chalmers were among the stars to take to the field for a benefit match played at the Royal High School in the city yesterday.

A Scotland Legends team faced a TCT side managed by 18-year-old Kyle McPherson, who was diagnosed with cancer when he was just 15 and underwent chemotherapy for six months at the Western General Hospital.

The legends were bossed by ex-Scotland full-back Rowen Shepherd and captained by one-time record cap holder Hastings.

A bumper crowd turned out for the thrilling fixture and the family fun day also included food, magicians, pipe bands, raffles and discounted sports massages.

TCT is a charity which is dedicated to raising money to help improve the lives of young cancer sufferers.

Shame the Hootsmon couldn't actually send someone to the game then. They would have spotted that Townsend wasn't there.

Great day out though, and for a great cause.
