Very Good move by Glasgow to get a good crowd for the game and show the 'footies' what a good game of rugby is like!! Best of luck Glasgow and Edinburgh in their forthcoming campaigns!!

No offence pal, but as a massive fan of both sports, being referred to as the "footies" is the kind of patter that will keep them away from the game

Mutt,

Close to the fence but not on it.... 08/10/2008 08:19:25
And if you're offended at being called a "footie"....

Well let's just say deciding whether or not to go along and watch "a bunch of toffee nosed poofs chasing an egg" for FREE is probably the least of your issues.

There are a lot of people out there desperate to feel offended at almost anything, and I find that very offensive.

Just don't mention you can actually watch the match with a beer in your hand and not listen to constant abusive language! I would call that civilised.
Good luck to both teams this weekend.

Footies offensive? Considering some of the stuff the various fans hurl at each other on these messaage boards then footies is way down at the bottom for offensiveness.
What is it about some football fans who have such a low tolerance for being offended.

Anyway, great idea and good luck to both of Scotland's representatives in the tournament.

A good move by Glasgow. If they can add 100 to each gate by doing this scheme, then it's a success.

At last some common sense marketing which will cost the SRU little or nothing. I have always felt that the SRU had some form of paranoia and couldn’t bring themselves to give anything away to prospective supporters.
This is a good move, more of the same please!!!

#'s 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7!!

Good Grief!! Never before has a comment made by me on the rugby threads envoked such a response!! Ha Ha Ha!
I would have to agree with #7,there are a number of stories on the football threads where comments are banned permanently because of the constant abuse.
However, if I have offended any football supporter with the term 'footies', I apologise.

I think it is agood idea because the two sports share the same pitch.
A good way to show Rugby Union is not a game reserved for only the middle class.
In France it is not about the social class you are from.
Rugby is played by a mixture of doctors, building site workers, farmers, baker, postman, executives, teachers,etc...
You can share the passion of the game, and open your mind at the Club house with a good pint!
Warriors and Thistle fans, a good way to support GLASGOW!

You don’t need to go as far afield as France to find an area where rugby is not a posh boys sport.

Happy!
You must be right, I do not know enough Scotland, just a comment because i've read some things like that from some Scots, maybe in the past.
