Last year saw council tax in most areas of Scotland rise by at least five per cent after the Scottish Government announced that the freeze enforced since 2007 had come to an end.
But First Minister Humza Yousaf announced he would reimpose the policy in his speech to the SNP conference last October and most councils have opted to keep bills at 2023/24 levels.
Inverclyde and Argyll and Bute initially said they would increase council tax - by 8.2 per cent and 10 per cent respectively - but then decided to scrap the hikes.
Here are the 10 council areas with the highest local tax bills in Scotland - and how much you’ll pay for living in a Band D property.
1. Midlothian
If you live in the pretty village of Roslin (pictured) - or anywhere else in Midlothian - you're paying a Band D rate of £1,514.73. That's the most expensive in Scotland.
2. Glasgow City
With a bill of £1,499 for a Band D property, Glasgow City has the second highest council tax this year in Scotland.
4. East Ayrshire
Those who call East Ayrshire towns like Kilmarnock (pictured) home have a Band D council tax bill of £1,487.44.
