SCOTLAND'S senior civil servants have voted against joining their lower-paid colleagues in striking over pay.
Members of the First Division Association (FDA) have voted not to take any industrial action and to accept a pay offer of around 2 per cent.

Their decision comes the day after the Public and Commercial Services Union announced its members working for the Scottish Government would strike on 31 July. They claim the Scottish Government's pay rise is capped to 2 per cent, but the government has said lower-paid workers would receive up to 20 per cent.

I think this story is wrong. The ballot on whether to accept the pay offer is still open- what's happened is that the union negotiators have proposed that members should accept the deal. Quite different.
