Zoo's latest recruit joins special branch
SIX brown capuchin monkeys have been born at Edinburgh Zoo, making it a record breeding season for the animals at the zoo.
The capuchins, which are found mainly in Guyana and nearby regions, were born between October 2009 and July this year and join a further 18 capuchins, as well as common squirrel monkeys, in the zoo's Living Links Centre.
The sex of the new capuchins is still to be determined.
The youngest of the monkeys, born on July 29, was born to first-time mum Penelope.
