Zimbabwe: President 'won't buckle' to regional mediators' demands
ZIMBABWE'S president says he won't buckle to regional mediators' demands to end a stand-off in the troubled power-sharing coalition.
A summit of regional leaders, in their strongest rebuke yet of President Robert Mugabe, said they will appoint a panel to recommend "appropriate action" to help resolve disputes in the coalition government and rein in violence, intimidation and hate speech.
But Mugabe told his party leaders that mediators "should not be dictators". He added he will not accept the interference and that "our neighbours shouldn't tell us what to do". Regional mediators brokered the formation of the troubled coalition after violence-plagued elections in 2008.
