Yoga offers cancer relief

Yoga can give a new lease of life to women with breast cancer undergoing radiotherapy, a study has shown.

Scientists in the US studied 163 women with an average age of 52 who attended sessions of yoga or simple stretching, or did not receive any training.

The classes were held three days a week during six weeks of radiation treatment.

Only the women in the yoga and stretching groups reported a reduction in fatigue. But those learning yoga experienced greater benefits to physical functioning and general health.
