Yacht finishes race round UK and Ireland
A RACING yacht which recently took the Evening News logo around the world has finished a follow up race around Britain and Ireland.
Edinburgh Inspiring Capital, the 68-foot racing yacht which completed its round the world trip in July, took over 12 days to cross the finish line during the Sevenstar Round Britain and Ireland Race.
The eleventh boat across the line, Edinburgh Inspiring Capital finished the race sixth in class on corrected time and 17th overall.
Line honours and the RORC and World Record for the Race went to Groupama, the Volvo 70 which finished in an impressive 5 days, 21 hours and 26 minutes.
Overall victory on corrected time went to the IMOCA Open 60, Artemis Ocean Racing.
Edinburgh skipper Jim Dobie said: "It might be strange to hear that the Sevenstar Round Britain and Ireland Race was one of the hardest races I have done.
"It was a very tactical race which demanded an immense amount of concentration to make sure that the right moves with the wind and tide were made."
