X Factor Stacey's final bow
HEARTBROKEN Stacey Solomon's X Factor dream came to an end last night as her performances, including one with Michael Bublé, failed to woo the voting public.
Olly Murs and teenager Joe McElderry will now battle it out tonight for the title, a recording contract and, in all likelihood, the Christmas number one.
Commenting on the result, Solomon, a 20-year-old single mother-of-one from Dagenham, said: "I came third, that's really good. I'm really proud. I've had the time of my life. Thanks to everyone who kept me here to the final."
The eagerly anticipated two-night final of the contest will top one of the most lucrative weekends in British broadcasting, with an extended results show creating prime advertising spots in front of an expected audience of 20 million. The weekend's coverage alone could generate 18 million for the troubled broadcaster ITV1.
